Welcome to Boston RISE!

Boston RISE is a study for adults 65 years of age and older who have mobility problems and problems doing daily activities around the home and in the community. Mobility problems include difficulty standing up from a chair, walking, or climbing up a set of stairs. We want to learn what physical problems (like weakness and poor balance) are most connected to changes in mobility and ability to do daily activities. The results from Boston RISE will hopefully lead to better ways for doctors to help older primary care patients keep their independence in the future. 420 people will take part in this study.

Boston RISE is funded by Grant Number 5 R01 AG032052-03 from the National Institute on Aging. This study is also supported by Grant Number 1 UL1 RR025758-01, Harvard Clinical and Translational Science Center, from the National Center for Research Resources.
